Firm Summary

Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP

Schulte-Roth

Schulte Roth & Zabel is a Biglaw firm borne out of other Biglaw firms — in 1969, a handful of junior associates from firms who are now SRZ’s competitors got together with the idea of creating a different kind of firm. This primarily took the form of working on practice areas like trusts and estates and hedge fund law (new at the time), which many firms largely ignored. The firm’s practice remains narrow to this day, focused primarily on clients in the financial services industry. SRZ aims to be a one-stop legal shop for private equity and hedge funds, with a strong focus on corporate and transactional matters, investment management, and securities litigation. Today, the firm has nearly 350 lawyers in New York, Washington, D.C., and London.

Fun fact: Founding partners William Zabel and Paul Roth are still practicing
