Firm Summary
Fish & Richardson PC
When it comes to intellectual property law, Fish & Richardson practically invented the field. As opposed to many of its IP competitors who came into being in the last half-century, Fish & Richardson has deep IP roots going back to its founding in Boston in 1878, when it represented some of the earliest names in innovation — Alexander Graham Bell, Thomas Edison, and the Wright brothers, just to name a few. The firm’s IP law expertise evolved along with technology, and the firm continued to serve top clients through the Industrial Revolution, the dot-com boom, the financial crisis, and into today. The focus through it all has been on IP, with top-notch teams handling patent matters, complex IP litigation, and more. Today the firm has over 350 attorneys in 13 offices, serving clients in all sectors of innovation, from cleantech to aerospace.
