This Top 10 Biglaw Firm Is Making It Rain On Associates
Get out those umbrellas, associates, because the cash is pouring down.
Bonuses, bonuses, and more bonuses! Associates, we heard you like Biglaw bonuses, so we’ve got more Biglaw bonus news!
The latest firm to open its coffers for associates is Ropes & Gray, a firm that brought in $2,674,046,000 gross revenue in 2021, putting it in 8th place in the most recent Am Law 100 ranking. While some firms are leaving their super-senior associates off the bonus grid entirely, Ropes is rewarding them with supersized bonuses.
Here’s what the bonus scale looks like at this Biglaw heavy-hitter:
- Class of 2022: $15,000 (pro-rated)
- Class of 2021: $20,000
- Class of 2020: $30,000
- Class of 2019: $57,500
- Class of 2018: $75,000
- Class of 2017: $90,000
- Class of 2016: $105,000
- Class of 2015: $115,000
- Class of 2014+: $130,000
And that’s not all! Associates who have annualized creditable hours above the firms 1900-hour requirement will receive additional bonus money. This is excellent news for associates who really billed their butts off this year.
