Law Firm Software: To Buy Or To Build?

Jared Correia discusses a legal tech conundrum with Raymond Asiimwe of Bytelex Advocates.

A majority of law firms buy the software they want “off the shelf.”

But there are still a significant number, including large law firms, that build their own software (or invest in technology companies that build software with their needs in mind).

The advantage for law firms is that they get software that perfectly suits their needs. The bad news is that they have to pay to build, update and maintain that software — which isn’t cheap.

In this episode, Non-Eventcast host Jared Correia is joined by Raymond Asiimwe, the Founder and Managing Partner of Bytelex Advocates, to discuss law firm technology needs — and when to buy and when to build.
