Junior Projects/Corporate Lawyer

A top tier UK firm is hiring in its Tokyo office. The position entails supporting the corporate and energy resources team in advising local conglomerates and international clients on a wide range of domestic and cross-border acquisitions. The appropriate applicant will have a minimum of 2 years of post qualification experience at associate level with major international firms with his/her focus on corporate M&A or energy projects. Commonwealth qualified lawyers are preferred, while US qualified applicants with relevant experience would also be considered. Japanese skills are not required. However, the independence at work is expected, as the firm has a tradition to second team members to valued clients in their headquarters. Within the firm, the big team diversifies with lawyers from Australia, New Zealand, UK, US, Singapore, and China, apart from a big group of Japanese Bengoshis.
