Data Privacy Associate Austin

This is a rare and coveted opportunity for Austin! The Austin office of our client, an elite AmLaw 100 global firm, is seeking an associate with 2-7 years of experience to handle privacy and cybersecurity issues in the context of complex technology transactions, including significant mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, other multidisciplinary transactions, advertising agreements, service agreements, e-commerce agreements, and other commercial transactions. You will be part of a rapidly growing team advising industry leading companies as well as innovative start-ups focused on cutting-edge commercial developments. The ideal candidate will have experience with technology industries, issues lying at the intersection of government regulation and technology, or FTC policy and enforcement regarding privacy and data security issues is desirable. Experience with M&A, technology transactions, or other transactional work is strongly preferred, as is familiarity with computer programming, network technologies, database design, and web technologies. CIPP certification is a plus.  The preferred location for this role is Austin, but for the right candidate DC or San Francisco is an option as well.. Candidates should have a strong academic record from a nationally respected law school and an equally impressive undergraduate degree, as well as large law firm experience and excellent references.
