Kim Kardashian Says She Failed The Baby Bar Exam
Will the reality TV star finish her quest to become a lawyer?
Back in April 2019, Kim Kardashian told the world that she was studying to become a lawyer without going to law school. In a tell-all interview with Vogue, Kardashian revealed that she was in the first year of a four-year apprenticeship, and that she hoped to take the California baby bar (aka the First-Year Law Students’ Examination) the next summer. In a new episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, the reality TV star admits that it did not go as well as she’d planned.
“So you guys, I did not pass the baby bar,” Kim tells her sisters, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian, during the episode that was filmed in October 2020. E! Online has additional details from a sneak preview of the upcoming episode:

The SKIMS founder explains in a confessional that the structure of her journey to the bar exam looks a little different than that of an average law student. “If you are doing law school the way I’m doing it, it is a four-year program instead of your typical three-year program,” Kim says. “And after year one, you have to take the baby bar. This would actually harder, I hear, than the official bar.”
In a flashback, Kim’s mentor, attorney Jessica Jackson, explains that Kim needs a score of 560 to pass the first year law student exam; she got a 474 on her first try taking the test. “That is extremely close on a test that most people are not taking in the middle of a pandemic,” Jackson tells her.
Kim laments her test score, muttering, “I am a failure. I spent six weeks straight, 10 to 12 hours a day, studying and it was so important for me to take this. And to not pass gets your spirit down and just makes you want to give up.” Her sisters tell her that what she’s doing is important, that their father would be proud, and that she’s taken so much time away from her family for this important goal — and that makes her even more upset:
“That’s what pisses me off,” she cuts in. “The fact that I spent all that time away from my kids, like I can’t do it again. I don’t have time. To do the next test is in November. And I’m filming the ending of our show, which will be so emotional. I have every birthday under the sun, you know, it’s my birthday—my 40th—I planned this whole trip and it’s too late to cancel. And if I fail again, it’s like, what’s the point?”
Khloe suggests that Kim take the test again in June 2021. “I don’t want to wait another year to go by for school,” Kim counters. “I feel like I just got to the end where I almost knew everything.” The episode ended with Kim’s quest to become a lawyer left in question. “I don’t know, I really need to think about it,” she said.

What Do Millennials Think Of Law Firm Life?
In October 2020, Kim was seen with her mentors Jessica Jackson and Erin Haney, making the following toast before taking a shot: “To studying for law school and passing this fucking test once and for all!” At the time, we thought she was speaking about one of her regular exams… but now it seems like she may have been speaking about the baby bar exam, which is just sad.
Kim was recently pictured studying in a bikini, which makes us wonder if she’s gearing up for the June administration of the baby bar exam, or if she passed an earlier test and we haven’t found out yet. In either case, we wish her the best of luck — after all, as Van Jones would say, “[S]he’s gonna be an unbelievable attorney and she’s already one of the best advocatesalready one of the best advocates that we have in criminal justice.”
