Plaintiffs' Attorney Shares What It's Like To Hold Companies Responsible For The Opioid Epidemic

A look at the challenges of plaintiffs' side work.

In this episode, I welcome Jayne Conroy, a plaintiffs’ attorney at Simmons Hanly Conroy LLC, to talk about the risks and rewards of being a plaintiffs’ attorney, and how MDLs work, and offers advice to younger lawyers interested in similar cases. She stresses the importance of being curious and open to learning new things, recognizing the workload, and having patience.

The Jabot podcast is an offshoot of the Above the Law brand focused on the challenges women, people of color, LGBTQIA, and other diverse populations face in the legal industry. Our name comes from none other than the Notorious Ruth Bader Ginsburg and the jabot (decorative collar) she wore when delivering dissents from the bench. It’s a reminder that even when we aren’t winning, we’re still a powerful force to be reckoned with.

Happy listening!
